This Privacy Policy explains what Zon Productions ("we", "us") collects when you use the NightShadow website, download portal, launcher, and game (the "Services"), and what we do with it. Short version: we collect the minimum needed to run a closed alpha, we don't run ads or analytics trackers, and we never sell your data.

1. WHAT_WE_COLLECT

• Account data — email address, username, and your password (stored only as a salted one-way hash; we cannot read it), plus your account role and approval status.
• Security data — IP address and timestamp of your logins, account creation date, and any ban records. Used to protect the Services and enforce the Terms of Service.
• Launcher data — login session tokens, a device label, IP address, and short-lived game launch tokens.
• Gameplay data — match history and statistics (map, match duration, team, kills/deaths/assists, objective actions), your in-game display name, and — if you play through Steam — your Steam ID and Steam persona name.
• Communications — emails we exchange with you, including password reset messages.

That's it. We do not collect payment information (the alpha is free), we do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not buy data about you from anyone.

2. HOW_WE_USE_IT

• Operating the portal: account creation, manual approval, and game downloads.
• Authentication for the website, launcher, and game servers.
• Security: preventing abuse, enforcing bans, rate limiting, and investigating cheating.
• Gameplay features: match history, player statistics, and leaderboards.
• Communication: account emails (approval, password resets) and alpha updates.

3. COOKIES

We use a single essential session cookie to keep you logged in. It expires after about one hour. There are no tracking cookies, no third-party cookies, and no analytics scripts.

4. WHO_WE_SHARE_IT_WITH

We never sell or rent your data. We share it only with the infrastructure that runs the Services:

• Google Cloud — hosts our server and stores game files. Google may log standard connection metadata (like IP addresses) when you download game files.
• Email delivery — our email provider processes the transactional emails we send you.
• Discord — game updates and announcements are posted to our community Discord. In-game display names and match results may appear there. Your email and account details are never posted.
• Legal — we may disclose data if required by law.

5. RETENTION

We keep account data while your account exists. Session and launch tokens are short-lived and expire automatically. This is a closed alpha: accounts, match history, and other data may also be wiped as part of alpha resets. If you want your account and data deleted, email us — we're a tiny team, we'll just do it.

6. YOUR_RIGHTS

You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time, by emailing admin@zon-productions.com.

7. SECURITY

Passwords are stored as salted scrypt hashes, all traffic is encrypted over HTTPS, and admin access is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the little data we hold.

8. CHILDREN

The Services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

9. CHANGES

We may update this policy as the game evolves. The "Last updated" date above will change when we do, and material changes will be announced on the site or in our Discord.
